The idea for The Space Between affirmation cards was born in a moment of pause, standing in a hospital entrance. Upstairs, I was a birth partner, holding the hand of a mother bringing new life into the world. Downstairs, my dad was having his lung drained, and I was the caring daughter, trying to hold it together.
That day I realised what it meant to live between worlds, to give care and to need it. To be strong, and to crumble. To nurture and to long for nurturing myself.
These cards are for that space.
For those of us who hold, soothe, steady and listen. For the doulas, the carers, the therapists, the counsellors, the ones who notice the unsaid and sit in silence when words fall short.
They are a reminder that our hears matter too. That while we are often the steady ground for others, we need safe ground of our own.
In the space between giving and receiving, between joy and grief, between exhaustion and renewal, there is room for us too.
This deck is designed as a gentle companion, offering words of reassurance, comfort and strength on the days you need them most.
